Project Overview

HDFC Bank’s Porur facility is a state-of-the-art, five-floor complex designed to accommodate various functions, including local meetings, hybrid meetings using software-based video conferencing platforms, Town Hall events, and streaming. With a focus on efficient collaboration, the facility was equipped with cutting-edge audiovisual (AV) solutions to enhance communication and provide seamless experiences for both in-person and remote attendees.

Solution Overview:

Our approach to the AV system was centered around scalability, reliability, and ease of use, integrating advanced equipment to ensure the highest-quality experiences for both local and remote participants.

1. Video System Design:
Multi-Display Setup:
To meet the varying requirements of different rooms and functions, multiple video systems were deployed across the facility. These included projectors, large-format displays, and screens, sized between 55″, 65″, and 98″ based on the room size and capacity.
A large Town Hall area was equipped with multiple high-definition displays combined with a projection system to ensure visibility across the entire venue. This system allows a large audience to view content clearly from any angle, making it ideal for presentations, announcements, and conferences.
Each room is equipped with an appropriate display system, with larger screens in more spacious rooms and smaller displays in smaller meeting areas.
Local and Remote Content Integration:
  1. Local HDMI/USB-C sources were incorporated to allow seamless presentation from personal devices, while a Set-Top Box (STB) input enabled TV and video content integration.
  2. Local HDMI/USB-C sources were incorporated to allow seamless presentation from personal devices, while a Set-Top Box (STB) input enabled TV and video content integration.
  3. Streaming and Content Sharing:

In open areas, the Extron and BrightSign streaming system provided robust content transfer functionality between floors, enabling real-time streaming and access to content across multiple locations. Additionally, retractable monitors were integrated in the boardroom, allowing easy access to a secondary display for the MD or chairperson during meetings.

Ceiling and Pendant Speakers:
A sophisticated QSC audio system was used, featuring 6.5″ ceiling and pendant speakers, strategically placed in various rooms to deliver clear, high-quality audio. The arrangement ensures consistent sound coverage across all areas, from small meeting rooms to large Town Halls.
Microphone Systems:
A wide range of Sennheiser microphones (handheld, lapel, and headworn) were used, offering flexibility for different types of events. The use of an antenna system significantly enhanced the range and reliability of the wireless microphones, especially during large meetings or presentations.
In the Boardroom, Audio Technica’s table microphones were deployed, offering precise control with on/off switches and visual indication lights. This system facilitated local audio reinforcement and was essential for far-end conferencing during hybrid meetings.
Audio-Visual Synergy for Hybrid Meetings:
The audio system’s integration with the video system ensured clear sound for both local participants and remote attendees, essential for a seamless hybrid meeting experience. With high-quality audio and video, remote participants could fully engage in discussions, contributing to enhanced collaboration.
QSC Control System:
The QSC control system was deployed to manage all AV equipment, streamlining the operation of the facility’s technology. Using a centralized touch panel interface, the control system made it easy for operators to:
This user-friendly system ensured that AV operations could be carried out smoothly, even by individuals without technical expertise. The system’s versatility also provided a level of automation, where operators could focus on the content rather than managing complex equipment.
With state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment and seamless integration, the facility is now capable of hosting a wide variety of events, from small internal meetings to large Town Halls and hybrid conferences.
The hybrid capabilities of the AV system support remote and in-person attendees, allowing for efficient collaboration without geographical constraints.
The QSC control system’s intuitive interface simplifies the operation of complex AV systems, empowering staff to focus on the content and meeting objectives rather than dealing with technical details.
The system can easily scale to accommodate future needs, whether that involves expanding the room sizes, adding more displays, or upgrading other AV components.

Conclusion:

The HDFC Bank Porur facility’s AV integration successfully met the client’s need for a flexible, scalable, and easy-to-use system capable of supporting a wide range of events. By combining high-end video, audio, and control technologies, the solution enhanced the bank’s ability to facilitate internal and external communication, improve collaboration, and create a productive environment for both in-person and remote participants
